Bitcoin Adoption Fund launched by Japan’s $500B Nomura bank

The Bitcoin Adoption Fund will have long-only exposure to Bitcoin and be available to institutional investors. Japan’s largest investment bank, Nomura’s digital asset subsidiary Laser Digital Asset Management, has launched a Bitcoin Adoption Fund for institutional investors. The official announcement noted that the Bitcoin (BTC)-based fund will be the first in a range of digital adoption investment solutions that the firm plans to introduce. Nomura is a Japanese financial giant with over $500 billion worth of assets and offers brokerage services to leading institutional investors. The Bitcoin fund launched by its digital asset arm will now offer investors direct exposure to Bitcoin. The Laser Digital Bitcoin Adoption Fund offers long-only exposure to Bitcoin. Binance re-enters Japan with 34 tokens listed

Binance Japan, set to launch in August fully, aims to list 34 token s initially, surpassing all domestic rivals. The news from local crypto media outlet Coinpost also revealed that Binance Japan is planning to introduce its native token , BNB, to the Japanese audience for the very first time, further strengthening its presence in the country’s flourishing crypto landscape. The establishment of Binance Japan traces back to November 2022, when Binance acquired the services of the licensed local crypto exchange provider, SAKURA Exchange BitCoin, Inc. (SEBC). Scientists created a crypto portfolio management AI trained with on-chain data

According to the researchers, CryptoRLPM is the first reinforcement learning-based AI system using on-chain metrics for portfolio management. A pair of researchers from the University of Tsukuba in Japan recently built an AI-powered cryptocurrency portfolio management system that utilizes on -chain data for training, the first of its kind according to the scientists.  Called CryptoRLPM, short for “Cryptocurrency reinforcement learning portfolio manager,” the AI system utilizes a training technique called “reinforcement learning" to implement on-chain data into its model. Reinforcement learning (RL) is an optimization paradigm wherein an AI system interacts with its environment — in this case, a cryptocurrency portfolio — and updates its training based on reward signals. Mt. Gox repayment registrations close: Here’s what’s next

The deadline for repayment registration for those affected by the Mt. Gox hack has closed, with the trustee releasing a statement on the next steps in the process. The saga of the Mt. Gox Cryptocurrency Exchange and the repayment of its creditors continues, as the company released a new statement as to what to expect now that its registration window has closed.  On April 7, the former exchange released a statement from its rehabilitation trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi saying the deadline for creditors to provide their repayment information — clarification of payee and payment type — has passed.  It said that “base repayment, intermediate repayment and early lump-sum repayments” will be carried out until Oct. 31, 2023.
